This is mood for all my babies during their shoot.
My first priority during all my DMV newborn shoots is baby’s safety. Next, is to get them nice and comfortable. We do this through multiple feedings, diaper changes, newborn calming techniques, heater and white noise/spa music. That’s right! A D2D Focus newborn session is like a trip to the spa for your newborn.
Baby Luka was my first newborn in my newly-renovated newborn studio. Except, when he came it was still under construction. Because of Covid, we had restrictions to where we could shoot, plus with the weather getting colder we had to make new accommodations.
During our pre-session styling consultation, Luka’s mom Simona Noce Wright and I, discussed their home decor and babies nursery so we can pick out a color palette and sets that worked perfectly for the Wright family.
At the time of writing this post, Baby Luka is now 3 months old…better late than never! 🙂
I love to share tips from moms for moms. Who better to interview than the Co-founder of District Motherhued – DMV’s premier social organization for millennial moms of color. Check them out on IG @districtmotherhued and connect with Simona @missnocepr.
IF YOU COULD DO ONE THING DIFFERENTLY DURING YOUR PREGNANCY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Well since I was pregnant during a pandemic, it would’ve been nice to have my husband attend my appointments with me.
WHAT IS ONE PRODUCT THAT WAS A LIFE SAVER DURING PREGNANCY?
Belly band to provide the back support needed during my sciatic pains.
WHAT IS ONE ITEM YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT NOW THAT BABY IS HERE?
Spectra breast pump! It’s chic, quiet and resourceful.
IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE ABOUT YOUR PREGNANCY JOURNEY?
As a Christian woman, I focused on two scriptures. Whenever I’d feel worried about something or if something was off during my pregnancy, I’d go back to those scriptures to encourage my heart and mind. It’s important to watch what you feed your mind
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH D2D FOCUS BY BONNIE-LOVE?
My experience with D2D Focus was exceptional. When you have a newborn , you’re pretty protective over who holds him so the warm, informed, and professional personality Bonnie holds immediately put me at ease. Bonnie is a baby whisperer and she knows what she’s doing. She doesn’t rush the experience, allowing room for mama to feed the baby and for baby to wind down from fussy moments. Her eye for a good shot is on point and she’s passionate about making sure no “perfect moment” goes uncaptured.
I highly recommend all new mothers to go to Bonnie. She takes care of everything!
