Towards the end of the summer, I begin prepping for the most wonderful time of the year. A little early for most, am I right? Yet, the holidays aren’t exactly what I’m referring to. Of course, it’s my absolute favorite time of the year, but before that are D2D Focus’s Holiday Mini Sessions.
What are Mini-Sessions?
Mini’s are fun, fast-paced, and cost-effective photo sessions. Perfect for families with limited time on their hands who like to do multiple photoshoots a year. You pick your photos on-site, a total of five, and they will be delivered digitally. I host them several times throughout the year. However, the holidays are always garnering the most traction.
Months in advance, I find myself brainstorming and then going on to dedicate weeks to building two individual sets for my clients, both returning and new, to choose from. Along with that comes the social media promotion, wardrobe guides, documenting bookings, and responding to any and all questions/concerns.
Then, before I know it, the time is here. Last year, 50 families, 20-minute sessions, and a million hours of set-up and takedown…kidding, but that’s what it always feels like. If you know, you know! Thankfully, sets are up weeks in advance. Phew! Let’s just take a moment to clap for my trait of preparedness.
But guess what? Everyone I interacted with throughout that time made every second I spent running around like a chicken with its head cut off well worth it. This passion fills me in more ways than one. The joy that spreads along these families’ faces during and after each session lets me know that the right craft chose me. They were all beautiful families with wonderful vibes that put their trust in me to capture and deliver sterling seasonal family images in the span of 20 minutes! Of course, editing is always tedious, but each and every photo was delivered just in time for them to spread their holiday cheer with their loved ones. Mission accomplished!
Whether returning or new, each and every one of my mini clients had a holly jolly session. As you can see, each family flaunted a variety of poses. The Bullock family, a beautiful family of five centered theirs around their newest addition. Posed in brown and white tones with sweaters and Uggs, their photos made for a good update on their family portraits. We have, the Bechel, Ebron, and Walker Families with Mommy and Me’s. Then there’s the traditional candids of siblings, the O’Neills, who took advantage of the props on set.
D2D Focus’s Holiday Mini Sessions illustrate the joys of the holiday season. They are something to look forward to every year. When you think about the holidays, you think of family, amongst many other things. Mini’s are a great way to bring your family together. Last year, they brought fifty! This year, I look forward to recreating that magic once again.
