Maternity sessions have absolutely no limitations. That’s the beauty of it all: there’s no traditional approach. Everyone is different, and that showcases within each session that I capture. Jemila is a perfect example of this. She opted to include her beautiful family in her DMV Maternity Session while still dedicating a look just for her. In both cases, new life was the focal point.

In these sessions, it is perfectly fine for your family to be incorporated. No, where it is written that it has to be just the parents. This is a celebratory moment and yet another way to honor your unborn, and what better way to do so than to capture your entire family’s excitement and anticipation? So many new journeys lie ahead for all parties involved. Your other children are transitioning into big brothers and sisters! This is something that deserves to be documented. In the future, the one in your belly will be able to view these images and see just how much they were cherished, loved, and celebrated.

It will also make for an amazing full-circle moment once the baby has arrived. I previously had a family who recreated the photos from their maternity session with their new addition, and it was everything and more! These sessions are not for you to be boxed in.
