DMV | Newborn Photo Session | Keni June

Okay, you did it! Let’s take a moment to virtually give you your flowers and a round of applause. Come on now! You created life and partook in one of the biggest forms of love and intimacy that a person can. Now I know just as anyone else that the journey is never easy, but you did it! You did that! So congratulations! Finally, you get to bask in all that you accomplished. If at any moment you feel like you haven’t done enough, just look to your newborn!

Now ahead of you is an even sweeter journey. There are so many moments and milestones awaiting, all of which you should have the opportunity to look back on. Newborn photo sessions are one of the many heirlooms that celebrate the birth of new life. It is one of the most beautiful and purest of moments after birth, and as a photographer, it pleases me to know that I am providing an experience that you and your baby can cherish for the rest of your lives.

This beautiful baby girl is Keni June, my Goddaughter. I had a front-row seat to her parent’s pregnancy journey, and trust me when I say that the transition from her mother’s belly to being placed in her arms was everything and more. This shoot was done just four days after she was born. It’s always best to have these sessions during the first two weeks of your baby’s life when they’re the squishiest (for posing) and sleepiest (for temperament). This always makes for the most incredible photos. These shoots are pretty popular and go fast, so it’s also important to book in advance of your due date. Specifically during your second trimester.

As a mother myself, I know that there is so much to think about when you are expecting a newborn. When it comes to deciding how to celebrate them and document the most memorable milestone of your growing family, these photo sessions are one of the best investments you can make.
